For recent graduates of law schools or graduate programs in journalism, international relations, area studies, or other relevant disciplines from universities worldwide.

Unrestricted Fellowships

Alan R. and Barbara D. Finberg Fellowship - Established in memory of Alan R. and Barbara D. Finberg, early supporters of Human Rights Watch, this fellowship is open to recent graduates (at the Master's level) in the fields of law, journalism, international relations, or other relevant studies. Graduates with LL.B. degrees or advanced degrees in other relevant disciplines may also be considered.

USA:African Humanities Program 2012 for Sub-Saharan African’s

Fellowship support is in the form of stipends: $10,000 for dissertation-completion Fellows and $17,000 for postdoctoral Fellows, plus an additional $1,000 per Fellow for books and media. Fellowships are intended to release recipients from teaching and other duties for an academic year so as to permit fulltime research and writing. (They may be used to “buy time.”) Recipients of both kinds of fellowship are also eligible for further support in the form of a residency at a participating research center in sub-Saharan Africa for a sustained period of writing away from a Fellow’s home institution. Approximately forty fellowships will be awarded annually in all five countries combined. Awards will be decided by an international committee of distinguished scholars in the humanitie

Luxembourg:PhD Research in Engineering at University of Luxembourg

The University offers the opportunity to apply for a PhD-Research Grant in Luxembourg . The grant is directly tied to the candidate. The candidate has to apply for the grant personally. In case of an accepted application, the position will be financed by the Luxembourgish AFR (Aide Formation Recherche) fellowship. 3 year fixed-term contract, renewable one year under justified circumstances Employee status The PhD-student will work under the guidance of a Professor on a research theme and will also contribute to education in a certain extent. She/he should finish the work with a doctoral degree in engineering science.
