As an IMPRS-MCB PhD student you will

Requirements
A PhD in Europe usually takes 3-4 years, but you need to have both a BSc and MSc or equivalent (4-5 years of studies) before enrolling. Integrated MSc/PhD programs are not very common.

You can apply if you have:
* MSc/Diploma in Biology/Biomedicine/Biochemistry or related subject (to be obtained latest 6 months after the application deadline)
* GPA >80%, first or upper second class degree (lower GPA can be accepted for applicants who belong to the best 10% of students – please provide grade distribution statistics from your college/faculty)
* Excellent English language skills (mother tongue or TOEFL/IELTS or equivalent certificate recommended but not obligatory)
* Practical lab experience
Please understand that we can accept only up to 10 of the best students per round. The satisfaction of our requirements doesn’t guarantee you a position at IMPRS-MCB.

Germany:KAAD Scholarship Program For Developing Country Students

Who can apply?

For the scholarship programme 1 of KAAD you can apply if you:

• come from a developing or emerging country in Africa, Asia, the Middle East or Latin America
• have a university degree and professional experience from your home country
• want to acquire a master's degree or a PhD at a German university or do a post-doctoral research project (2-6 months for established university lecturers) at a German university
• are a Catholic Christian (or general belong to a Christian denomination). Candidates from other religions can apply if they are proposed by Catholic partners and can prove their commitment to interreligious dialogue.

What does KAAD expect from you?

• Above-average performance in studies and research
• The orientation of your studies or research towards permanent reintegration in your home region (otherwise the scholarship is turned into a loan),
• Religious and social commitment (activities) and willingness to inter-religious dialogue
• German language skills before starting the studies (KAAD can provide a language course of max. 6 months in Germany).

KAAD is working with focus- and partner countries in your region. There are so-called Partner Committees in these countries and applications are channelled via them. Applications from other countries can be considered only in exceptional cases.

Germany:The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarship For Bangladeshi Students

This scholarship is for the Graduate level students andfor the Bangladeshi citizens.

Requirements:

• This is for the The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) (Research Scholarship) Re-invitation Programme for Former Scholarship Holders.

• Applications for the re-invitation program can only be submitted by former one-year scholarship holders who have been back in their home country for at least three years.

• The most important selection criterion is a convincing and well-planned research or work project to be completed during the stay in Germany. The content and schedule must have been coordinated and agreed with an academic supervisor or research collaboration partner at the German host institution in question. Written confirmation of the planned cooperation project, including express reference to the applicant's project, must be included with the application.

• The application must include proof of a workplace being provided at the host institute.

• DAAD support for a research or work stay can only be awarded once in any three-year period.
