Netherland:NFP Fellowship for Short Courses in 2011
The deadline for applying for an NFP fellowship for short & online courses taking place in January up to and including June 2011 has been advanced to 1 October 2010.
This means that those who wish to apply for an NFP fellowship at the Dutch Embassy for these courses, will have to apply to UNESCO-IHE before September 1, 2010, to get their admission letter in time.
The deadline for short courses held in July and September 2011 is February 1, 2011. Online application at www.nuffic.nl for an NFP scholarship will be possible from 1 November 2010 till 1 February 2011.
MSc Programmes
For the UNESCO-IHE MSc Programmes that start in October 2011, the application procedure for an NFP fellowship is as follows:
If you wish to apply for an NFP scholarship please keep in mind that there are two deadlines:
- A UNESCO-IHE application deadline which is 24 January 2011: apply for academic admission by completing and sending in the UNESCO-IHE application form for MSc programmes. Send this form and other required documents by air-mail to UNESCO-IHE. All applications received before 24 January 2011 can still be considered for admission. If you are late: please consider sending your application by DHL.

UNESCO-IHE receives a message that you have applied for an NFP scholarship and will inform Nuffic whether or not you have been academically accepted. However, in order to do so, UNESCO-IHE needs to be in possession of your application for academic admission, therefore send your application form in time.
You can apply for academic admission and the NFP fellowship at the same time.

PhD Position in Music Cognition At University of Amsterdam
- Does consciousness require synaptic plasticity?
- Does perceptual learning depend on consciousness and not on attention?
- Does conscious perception depend on previous learning of image statistics?
The PhD project will mainly contribute to the second question by studying hierarchical time perception in music. In addition, the project will be concerned with the computational modeling of the temporal aspects of music (such as rhythm, timing, and tempo) and the role of perception, attention, expectation and memory in music cognition. Next to computational modeling, we will use brain imaging techniques to identify global neural correlates of rhythm perception.
