Scholarship 2011-2012 From The Citadel Capital Scholarship Foundation

The Citadel Capital Scholarship Foundation was created in 2007, out of a strong will to contribute to national development through creating high caliber professionals to help enhance Egypt’s growth in all sectors.
The Foundation is funded by an endowment from Citadel Capital to grant academic scholarships for talented and promising young Egyptian men and women to pursue master degrees and PhDs abroad in all fields of study.

Scholarships Award Scheme for International Students 2011/12 at Aston Business School,UK

The Aston Business School is pleased to announce several scholarships of £1,000 each in value for each academic year of undergraduate studies and £500 for the placement year.

Scholarships are available to international students entering one of the full-time BSc programmes in 2011/12 detailed below. Scholarships are awarded competitively to help with the cost of tuition fees.

How to apply

Applicants should write a letter of application and a letter of motivation (500 words) along with providing an academic reference supporting the application. The applicants or the applicants’ representative should submit the complete application to:

Conditions:

Please ensure that you state your full name, UCAS number and your contact details including correct email address as they appear on your UCAS form and the name of programme you have applied for. Without these details scholarship applications cannot be considered.

Scholarships are allocated on academic merit and scholarship applications will be considered in conjunction with your academic application via your completed UCAS form.

Please label your essay “Undergraduate Scholarship Application Letter of Motivation” at the top of the first page.

1. Scholarships to the value of £1000 are for each year of undergraduate study for a maximum of three years. The scholarship for the placement year is £500.00. The maximum total scholarship over four years is therefore £3,500.
2. The scholarship will be awarded as a reduction in academic study fees – no cash alternative is available.
3. Scholarships are only available for international students who are self-funded. UK and EU applicants and students sponsored by an organisation are not eligible.
4. To be eligible applicants must place Aston as their Firm choice institution through UCAS and Aston must have been notified of this decision by UCAS.
5. 5. Applications must be received by post, fax or email before June 30th 2011. An email acknowledgement of receipt will be sent.
6. The Aston Business School Scholarship Panel will make their decision by 31st July 2011. Successful applicants/their representatives will be informed whether they have been successful or not by 31st July 2011 by email correspondence.
7. The decision of the Aston Business School Scholarship Panel is final. No further discussion will be entered into and there is no right of appeal.
8. The Aston Business School Scholarship Panel reserves the right to conduct a telephone interview with suitable candidates.
9. For successful applicants the award will be evaluated on an annual basis and is dependent upon students achieving a pass grade in each year of study. Students who repeat a year will not be eligible for a continuing scholarship.

IMPRS-MCB PhD Program In Germany

You have a passion for Molecular and Cellular Biology and want to do cutting edge research in
Immunobilogy, Epigenetics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics?

As an IMPRS-MCB PhD student you will
* work on exciting scientific projects addressing the hot topics of molecular and cellular biology

Requirements
A PhD in Europe usually takes 3-4 years, but you need to have both a BSc and MSc or equivalent (4-5 years of studies) before enrolling. Integrated MSc/PhD programs are not very common.

You can apply if you have:
* MSc/Diploma in Biology/Biomedicine/Biochemistry or related subject (to be obtained latest 6 months after the application deadline)
* GPA >80%, first or upper second class degree (lower GPA can be accepted for applicants who belong to the best 10% of students – please provide grade distribution statistics from your college/faculty)
* Excellent English language skills (mother tongue or TOEFL/IELTS or equivalent certificate recommended but not obligatory)
* Practical lab experience
Please understand that we can accept only up to 10 of the best students per round. The satisfaction of our requirements doesn’t guarantee you a position at IMPRS-MCB.

USA:The World Forest Institute Fellowship Program

The WFI Fellowship Program brings forestry and forest products professionals from around the world to work at the World Forest Institute for 6 to 12 months. Over 80 Fellows from 25 countries have participated in the program.

The Fellowship Program offers participants many opportunities, such as:

* Conducting studies in the Pacific Northwest related to forestry
* Meeting with many different forestry organizations and corporations
* Building a network of forestry contacts, and
* Promoting the dissemination and exchange of information regarding global forest resources and their utilization

Fellows leave the program with a solid understanding of how the US forestry sector operates and who the key players are. Additionally, Fellows gain invaluable cultural experience and English language skills.

2011 Beachell- Borlaug International Scholars Program

Recognizing the importance of rice and wheat in global food security, Monsanto Company pledged $10 million to improve yields in these crops as part of its commitment to sustainable yield.

Monsanto’s Beachell-Borlaug International Scholars Program is the result of that pledge.

Monsanto established this program in 2009 in honor of two of the world’s most pre-eminent rice and wheat breeders: Drs. Henry Beachell and Norman Borlaug.

Their lifelong work laid the foundation for the tremendous increases in rice and wheat production that continue to help feed the world today.

The primary objective of this prestigious fellowship program is to develop highly educated rice and wheat plant breeders who can serve as future agricultural leaders.

It will be administered by Texas AgriLife Research, an agency of the Texas A&M University System.

* Provides a full package of support, including a generous student stipend, tuition, applicable fees, health insurance, research fees and travel, as well as funds for the collaborating institution and advising professor

* Supports projects that allow the student to develop advanced breeding techniques, as well as experience conducting at least one season of field work in a developing country

* Is open to students worldwide who are seeking a Ph.D. in rice or wheat plant breeding

Anglo-Spanish Society Scholarships at King’s College London,UK

The Anglo-Spanish Society has existed for over 50 years, as a forum for people who share a love of, and interest, in Spain.Thanks to the generosity of financial supporters and sponsors, the Society is able to support a number of postgraduate scholarships.

Last year, for example, the society awarded five scholarships worth £4,500 each, to students wishing to pursue studies in fields ranging from medicine to architecture.
