The Sparrows Offshore Scholarship

The Sparrows Offshore Scholarship is open to second and third year students and offers two students £2,000 per year for each of the remaining years of the course, as well as paid summer placements.

Upon graduation, Sparrows also offers the option of attending a job interview and it is anticipated that successful completion of the scholarship and the award of a good degree would lead to an offer of employment.

Applicants must be engaged in full-time study at Robert Gordon University on one of the full-time BEng/MEng degree programmes listed below:

* Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons)/ MEng
* Mechanical and Electrical Engineering BEng (Hons) / MEng
* Mechanical and Offshore Engineering BEng (Hons) / MEng

Completed application forms should be submitted to scholarships@rgu.ac.uk.

The closing date for applications is 29 October 2010. All applications must be received by that date in order to be considered for the scholarship.

The selection process begins with students completing an application form. Short listed candidates will be invited for an interview at Sparrows Offshore Services.

Short listed candidates will be Sparrows Scholars must attain satisfactory academic and non-academic semester and summer placement reports; failure to do so could result in termination of the scholarship.

The Bureau Veritas Scholarship

The Bureau Veritas Scholarship is open to second year students.

The scholarship offers two students an award of £2000 in their second year and an award of £3000 in their third and final years as well as paid summer placements. The award is performance linked and students must progress on to a MEng programme after their second year of study.

All successful Bureau Veritas scholars will have the additional benefit of being eligible for a job interview at graduation.



Applicants must be engaged in full-time study at Robert Gordon University on one of the BEng or MEng degree programmes listed below:

The Wood Group Scholarship offers £10,000 over four years along with paid summer placements and mentoring support.



Students who have accepted the offer of a place on one of the following full-time BEng or MEng courses at Robert Gordon University will be eligible to apply for the scholarship:

* Electronic and Electrical Engineering MEng
* Mechanical and Offshore Engineering BEng (Hons) / MEng
* Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons)/ MEng
* Electronic and Electrical Engineering BEng (Hons) / MEng
* Mechanical and Electrical Engineering BEng (Hons) / MEng
* Mechanical Engineering MEng

We will accept one reference form if you are applying for more than one scholarship.

Please also note that as the application forms are similar candidate information may be duplicated easily, however please ensure the 'About You' section is amended appropriately for each scholarship application.

Full details of the selection criteria are available within the form. All applicants to the scholarship will need to enrol on their chosen course at the University during September 2010.

The selection process begins with students completing an application form which will be reviewed by a panel consisting of representatives from the University and Wood Group who will then shortlist a group of high academic performers. This group will be invited to attend an interview at Wood Group and the award winner will be selected from amongst this group of students.

Renewal of the award after each year is dependant on continued good academic performance.

The Technip UK scholarship

The Technip UK scholarship is open to first year students. Technip is the leading subsea engineering and construction contractor working at the centre of the dynamic oil and gas industry.The Technip UK Engineering scholarship is open to first year students and offers £2,000 per year for each year of the course.Successful Technip UK scholars have the additional benefit of being eligible to apply for a paid industrial placement at Technip.



If you have accepted the offer of a place on one of the following full-time BEng or MEng courses at RGU you will be eligible to apply for the scholarship:

Scotland:Fiona Fuller Business Scholarship For Undergraduate Students

The Fiona Fuller Business Scholarship is sponsored Pöyry. Pöyry is a global consulting and engineering firm focusing on the energy, forest industry and infrastructure & environment sectors.

Founded in 1958 Poyry employs8000 people in its offices in 47 countries. The Aberdeen office is apart of their Energy Business Group; a major provider of front end andconsultancy services to the Oil & Gas industry in Europe, the AsiaPacific Region & the Middle East. This scholarship is in memory ofFiona Fuller a former student of Robert Gordon University and employeeof Pöyry.

The Fiona Fuller Business Scholarship offers one student an award of £1000 in their 3rd year and £2000 in their 4th year.

The Talisman Undergraduate Scholarship In Scotland

The Talisman Scholarship provides significant opportunities for prospective students at the Robert Gordon University. This prestigious award provides funding support up to the value of £11,000 throughout your studies.

Talisman Energy (UK) Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Talisman Energy Inc; a large, independent, oil and gas company, which is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

In the UK, Talisman is the second largest oil operator and fourth largest gas operator in the North Sea, and provides extensive expertise in reservoir engineering and drilling technology. Talisman employs over 2100 people worldwide, with approximately 33% of Talisman's production met by the North Sea area

The Talisman Business scholar will qualify to receive funding support of £4000 each year for the first two years of the course, followed by £3000 grant in the final year of the course.
