USA:The Falak Sufi Scholarship At New York University

Falak Sufi was born in Pakistan in 1983. She possessed a generous heart, the urge to engage with and change the world, and a brilliantly original, vivacious mind. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with first class honors in Political Science. While young, she began to publish the work that showed her great gifts and talent. Among her interests were women and gender in South Asia, the historiography of this region, and the strength of the humanities. However, no list can capture the range of subjects about which she thought, spoke, and wrote. She was a much beloved, deeply admired graduate student in Near Eastern Studies at the Kevorkian Center when she died tragically in New York in 2008.

The Falak Sufi Scholarship is to honor her memory and to support students from countries with a majority Islamic population in South Asia who might not otherwise be able to obtain a graduate
education. These students, preferably female, will be enrolled in the two-year master’s program in Near Eastern Studies.

The holders of this scholarship should embody the intellectual spirit and promise of Falak Sufi, and possess a deep and abiding commitment to the role of women in academia and to the questions that she explored, primarily the study of gender in the countries of the Near East, Middle East, and/or South Asia with a majority Islamic population.

Amount of Scholarship

For 2011–12, the scholarship includes an academic-year stipend (a minimum of $23,046), tuition, student health insurance, registration and service fees for up to two years, provided that academic standards of the Graduate School and the program are met

The online application for admission is also the application for all Graduate School financial aid. No additional forms are required. If an applicant explicitly wishes to be considered for a Falak Sufi Scholarship, that person should add one paragraph to the application’s “Statement of Purpose” explaining how the candidate meets the criteria for the scholarship and how the award will enable the candidate to pursue graduate education. The application deadline for Fall 2011 admission is January 4, 2011.

ASCO Numatics Scholarship 2011 in Graduate Level

The ASCO Numatics scholarship is merit-based and will be awarded on the candidate’s potential for leadership and for making a significant contribution to the engineering, instrumentation, systems, and automation professions, particularly as they relate to the application of fluid control and fluid power technologies.

Scholarship recipients may be eligible for an ASCO Numatics internship.

ASCO Numatics will award two, $5,000 scholarships to U.S. engineering students who are pursuing careers in industrial automation-related disciplines.

Additionally, ASCO Numatics will make $1,000 grants to the engineering departments of the colleges in which the winners are enrolled.

Spain:CEMFI Master Scholarship Economics Finance 2011-2012

Positions in Economics and Finance

CEMFI may grant students exemptions of the tutoring fee and/or scholarships for living expenses amounting up to EUR 10,000 per year

Master in economics and Finance at CEMFI is a 2-year full-time program intended to prepare students for a wide range of careers in the public and the private sectors. It also serves as the first two years of the PhD in Economics at CEMFI. This flexibility is very attractive to many students that initially are not sure whether they would like to follow a professional or an academic track. The program is taught in English.

The distinctive feature of the program is the combination of an orientation towards applied and policy issues with a strong emphasis on analytical and quantitative approaches to these issues. This requires a solid understanding of the relevant economic, econometric, and computational techniques. The faculty teaching the courses are all active researchers at the frontier of their area of expertise. About 25 students are enrolled each year, which allows for close interaction with CEMFI’s faculty.

The Master in Economics and Finance at CEMFI is an official degree granted by Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) according to the regulations of the Spanish Ministerio de Educación.

Candidates who wish to apply for scholarships (Netherlands Fellowship Program, Erasmus Mundus External Windows, Worldbank etc) may have to observe early deadlines and early application is recommended.

Self funded candidates can submit their applications until 1 June 2011.

We also have opportunities for EU students. There are a number of fee-only scholarships available for EU students, and we can also assist you in applying for an Erasmus Socrates scholarship (EU students only).

From November 2010 on you can apply online, which is safe and quick. After applying digitally, you can upload the required documents on your personal page. After you have everything complete you should print the application form, sign it and send it together with the other required documents to ITC in the Netherlands.

The programme, which lasts 22 months, is worth 120 credits in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

Undergraduate Scholarship in Engineering 2011/2012 At The University of Nottingham,UK

Engineering Scholarship for Undergraduate International Students 2011/2012 – University of Nottingham UK

The University of Nottingham in UK offers Undergraduate Scholarships for International students to study Engineering courses leading to a bachelors degree. International students starting an undergraduate degree programme within The Faculty of Engineering in 2011, who meet the eligibility criteria outlined below, will be awarded partial fee scholarship.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must have selected the University of Nottingham as their first (firm) choice in the UCAS application form. Scholarship winners will also be entitled to £1,500 in their 2nd, 3rd and 4th years. This is conditional upon you passing the previous year with an overall average of 55% or above, and having satisfactory attendance during the previous year as determined by the Head of Department.
Students who transfer from an engineering degree programme at The University of Nottingham,Malaysia to start your studies in Nottingham (UK) are also entitled for the award.

Eligibility:

The fee deduction scholarship is only available to students who selected University of Nottingham as their first (firm) choice in the UCAS application process.* Students registering on degree programmes jointly offered by Faculties outside Engineering are not eligible.
* Only students who commence their studies in the Faculty of Engineering in 2011 are eligible for the scholarship- direct entry students commencing their studies in the Faculty of Engineering will receive the 2011 Entry Scholarship- students deferring their entry to the Faculty of Engineering to 2012 will be eligible for the 2012 Entry Scholarship (terms may be different from those in 2011) – students progressing from Ningbo campus to commence their studies in the UK are subject to special arrangements.

How to apply:
The scholarship will be paid automatically to awardees during the spring semester. No application is required for the scholarship award.

Europe:Agris Mundus Masters scholarship

The Agris Mundus Masters course is a two-year training programme of 120 ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) in agricutural development and management of natural resources.

The Agris Mundus Masters course objectives are to train students to cope with the current global/international concerns in agriculture and rural development. Graduates will be qualified to identify and critically analyse key factors shaping the development of crops, forests and animall production, the management of research and rural development projects and finally, the sustainable use of natural resources and the environment. They will be trained to formulate and provide effective and appropriate responses to complex agriculture and natural resources related issues.
