Mission
- work under the supervision of a professor on a research project
- complete the research project with the aim to obtain a doctoral degree in engineering science.
- assist in teaching undergraduate courses (minor task)
Title of the research project:
Effect of the influent (energy crops) characteristics and microbial activity on biogas production during anaerobic digestion – model development and up-scaling
Project description:
The aim of the work is the development of a model based on ADM1, which will include substrate composition data for different energy crops as well as the bacterial dynamics information as determined by FISH-analysis. The model will be developed using Matlab-Simulink and will serve for design and up-scaling of biogas digesters.
Profile:
- Masters degree in chemical, environmental or process engineer. Equivalent studies and degree will also be considered
Willingness to register as a PhD-student
- Basic competence in laboratory and analytical work is necessary. Knowledge of Matlab-Simulink for modelling is an advantage.
- Language: English and German or French
