The scholarship is aimed at those intending to study at universities overseas at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The British Council will select between five and eight people from the launch countries, each of whom will receive an award of approximately 2,000GBP towards the cost of tuition fees. Award winners will begin an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at any overseas university which uses IELTS as part of its admission requirements.
