The University invites applications for admission to full-time research studies commencing in September 2010. Scholarships will be available for selected applicants.Research supervision leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is offered in the following Research Institutes:
Science, Engineering and Information Technology
Biomedical Sciences, Architecture and the Built Environment, Earth Systems and Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, Nanotechnology & Advanced Materials, Nursing, Psychology, Health & Rehabilitation Sciences
Social Sciences
Business & Management, Education, Transitional Justice (Law), Social Policy Research, Sports & Exercise Science
Arts and Humanities
Art & Design, Celtic Studies, Media Studies, Humanities and Irish Cultural Heritages
Master of Research
A one-year full-time programme leading to the award of Master of Research is also available and it is anticipated that awards will be available for selected applicants.
Part-time Study
Applications to undertake part-time study towards the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy are also welcomed by the University on a self funded basis.
How to Apply
To be considered for entry, applicants should hold, or expect to hold by 15 August 2010 a first or upper second class honours degree in a subject relevant to the proposed research topic. The closing date for the receipt of applications for full-time study and associated awards is 26 March 2010. The projects will be advertised at the end of January 2010.
Interviews will form part of the selection process and are likely to be held during the period late April to early May 2010. Selected applicants will be contacted with further details shortly after the closing date.
