Greek Government Scholarship Program For Foreign Students 2010/2011

Overview

We announce hereby the scholarships granted by Hellenic Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs to foreign nationals who wish to attend undergraduate or postgraduate studies to our country’s Universities or a research study to our country’s Universities or Centers of Scientific Research the academic year 2010-2011


Financial Benefits

a) Monthly allowance:
500€, for scholarship holders following undergraduate studies and
550€, for scholarship holders following postgraduate studies or research.
b) One-off allowance for settlement expenses:
500€, for those who shall be settled to Athens and
550€, for those who shall be settled to the province.
The scholarship holders whose scholarship is been renewed are not entitled to this amount.
c) One-off amount of 150€ annually for covering transportation expenses within the country for postgraduate students or researchers who are obliged to move from their place of residence, in order to execute the research program approved by our Office and as long as there is a justified proposal by their Supervisor.
d) Exemption from tuition fees only for undergraduate studies.
e) It is clarified that for the scholarship holders of postgraduate studies or research in case they wish to follow the Greek language courses as well, they shall not be exempted from tuition fees. Additionally, they should select the postgraduate programs offered as “tuition fee-free” from the list that they shall seek to the website www.ypepth.gr under the indication “State Budget”. In case their choice is not included to the free programs they should cover fees on their own.
f) Free medical treatment in the case of an emergency, only in Public Hospitals...

1. AZERBAIJAN Four(4) scholarships for the summer seminar of Greek Language and Civilization



2. EGYPT Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students who are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.



3. ETHIOPIA a) Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Three(3) scholarships for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of twelve (12) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.


4.ALBANIA a) Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Two(2) scholarships for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of twelve (12) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
c) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


5. ARMENIA a) Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Three(3) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.
6. BELGIUM
a) Flemish Community

b) French Community Three (3) scholarships for a duration of ten(10) months each for postgraduate studies. One of these scholarships shall be granted for Greek language and Civilization studies

7. BULGARIA a) Three(3) scholarships for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of twelve (12) months each.
b) Five(5) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each.
c) Six(6) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


8.FRANCE a) Six(6) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.





9.GERMANY a) One(1) scholarship for a full cycle of undergraduate studies to the courses of Greek Language and Literature for a duration of ten(10) months per year.
b) Until fifty(50) months of scholarship for postgraduate studies or research, which can be distributed accordingly to candidates. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
c) Three(3) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


10. DENMARK a) Thirty-six(36) ) months of scholarship for postgraduate studies or research. The duration of each scholarship can be from four(4) to ten(10) months.
b)Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.
Applications shall be submitted to the Greek embassy in Copenhagen.

11.ESTONIA a) One(1) scholarship annually up to ten(10) months for postgraduate studies or research
b)Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.
12.INDIA One(1) scholarship for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten(10) months.


13.JORDAN

a) Scholarship renewals of Jordanian students already studying in Greece.
b) Four(4) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten(10) months each.
c) One(1) new scholarship for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of twelve(12) months, or, of postgraduate studies for a duration of ten(10) months, for the course of Greek Literature, under the condition that the graduate student shall be exercised to the modern language Department (Greek language and civilization Sector) in the University of Jordan. Candidate selection shall be made by the School of the Arts of Jordan University academic authorities. The Greek ambassador in Jordan or his representative shall participate to the candidate selection procedure.
d) Two(2) scholarships for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of twelve(12) months given to Jordanian citizens of Greek origin.
The above two (2) scholarships include both new scholarship grants and also extensions for those already studying, who shall take precedence.
Candidates shall be selected by the Jordanian Ministry of Supreme Education competent authorities. The Greek ambassador in Jordan or his representative shall participate to the candidates selection procedure.
e) Two(2) scholarships for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of twelve(12) months to Jordanian christians. These scholarships include also extensions for those already studying.
Candidates shall be selected by the Jordanian Ministry of Supreme Education competent authorities. The Greek ambassador in Jordan or his representative shall participate to the candidates selection procedure.
f) Three(3) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research during the whole program duration and for a duration of ten(10) months each for the teachers/professors specialization to the field of new technologies and teaching methodology.
14.IRAN One(1) scholarship for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten(10) months.

15.IRELAND One(1) scholarship for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten(10) months to a Greek University or another foundation of Supreme Education.

16.ISRAEL a)Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


17.ITALY Thirty(30) months of scholarship for postgraduate studies or research or diploma thesis preparation. The duration of each scholarship may vary from five(5) to ten(10) months. Two(2) of them can be granted to Archeologists and two(2) to Architects-Restorers or Works of Art Conservators working to Museums for a maximum period of two(2) months. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.



18.CHINA a) Four(4) scholarships for modern Greek learning for a duration of ten(10) months each.
b) Three(3) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
c)Six(6) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.
19. CUBA One(1) scholarship for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


20. CROATIA Ten(10) months of scholarship for postgraduate studies or up to ten(10) months for research. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.

21. CYPRUS Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.

22. LATVIA a) One(1) scholarship for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten(10) months.
b) Up to two (2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.
23.LEBANON Scholarships granted shall concern only renewals of those already studying.

24.LUXEMBURG a)Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


25. MEXICO a) Twenty(20) months of scholarship for postgraduate studies or research. The duration of each scholarship may vary from five(5) to ten(10) months. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.

26. NORWAY a)Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each.
b) One(1) scholarship for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


27.S. KOREA One(1) scholarship for the acquisition of a Master or a Doctorate Degree for a duration of at least two(2) academic years. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
28.NETHERLANDS a) Four(4) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


29. HUNGARY a)Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Three(3) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.

30. UZBEKISTAN a) One(1) scholarship for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.

31. UKRAINE


a) One(1) scholarship for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.
b) One(1) scholarship for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of twelve(12) months. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
32.PAKISTAN One(1) scholarship for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each.


33. PALESTINE a) Three(3) scholarships for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of twelve(12) months. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Two(2) scholarships for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each, with a possibility to renewal.
c) One(1) scholarship for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar for a duration of one(1) month.
34. PERU One(1) scholarship for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of until ten (10) months each.

35. POLAND a) Thirty(30) months of scholarship for postgraduate studies or research. The duration of each scholarship can be until ten(10) months.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.

36. ROMANIA a) Three(3) scholarships for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of twelve(12) months each per year. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) One(1) scholarship for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each.
c) Three(3) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar on the occasion there shall be a relative agreement between Greece and Romania through the diplomatic route


37. SERBIA a) Twenty(20) months for postgraduate studies or research, that can be distributed to the candidates accordingly. The shortest scholarship duration can be five(5) months and the longest duration ten(10) months.
b) Five(5) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


38. SLOVAKIA a) Fifteen(15) months for postgraduate studies or research. The duration for each scholarship can be from five(5) to ten(10) months. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.

39. SLOVENIA a) One(1) scholarship for postgraduate studies or research for a duration of ten (10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.

40.SYRIA a) Scholarships granted for undergraduate studies concern exclusively scholarship holders already studying
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.
c) Two(2) new scholarships for a duration of ten(10) months each that lead to the acquisition of a Master or a Doctorate Degree


41.TURKEY a) Four(4) scholarships for research and for a duration of ten(10) months each. At least one(1) of these scholarships shall be granted to a graduate from the Department of Classical Studies of Istanbul University. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Seven(7) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


42.CZECH REPUBLIC a) Fifteen(15) months of scholarship for postgraduate studies or research. The duration of each scholarship can be from five(5) to ten(10) months. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) Two(2) scholarships for the attendance of the Greek Language and Civilization summer seminar.


43.TUNISIA a) Two(2) new scholarships for a full cycle of undergraduate studies for a duration of ten(10) months each. In case where a matter of renewing a scholarship rises, for students which are already scholarship holders, these scholarships shall be counted in advance of the new ones, without exceeding the number of scholarships for each year.
b) One(1) scholarship for a duration of ten(10) months for postgraduate studies or three(3) scholarships of research for a duration of three(3) months each.

44.FINLAND Eighteen(18) months of scholarship for postgraduate studies or research. The shortest scholarship duration can be three(3) months and the longest duration nine(9) months.
