USA: NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship 2010 For US Students

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and The NORDAM Group annually award $2,500 to an undergraduate who is officially enrolled as an aerospace engineering or aeronautical systems maintenance engineering major at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

The NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship was created by NBAA and The NORDAM Group to honor the lifetime achievements of two aerospace engineering pioneers, Dee Howard and Etienne Fage. NORDAM has been a world leader in aircraft component manufacturing and repair since 1969.

Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. This scholarship will be presented at the NBAA 63rd Annual Meeting & Convention in October 2010. It will be redeemable under the conditions established by NBAA and The NORDAM Group, and checks will be made payable to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. The scholarship recipient must use all scholarship funds within 24 calendar months of the announcement of the award or risk forfeit of the award.

To be eligible for the NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship, the applicant must be an undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior and have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. USA: USAIG PDP Scholarship 2010 For US Students

In coordination with the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the U.S. Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG) annually awards $1,000 to an applicant enrolled full-time in a college or university offering the NBAA Professional Development Progam (PDP).To review the list of NBAA/UAA member universities offering PDP curricula, download the application form.

Applicants must be undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors enrolled in an aviation-related two-year, four-year, or postgraduate degree program that incorporates the NBAA PDP. Students must have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. USA: Alan H. Conklin Business Aviation Management Scholarship 2010 For US Students

Conklin & de Decker, in coordination with NBAA, established the Alan H. Conklin Business Aviation Management Scholarship in 2007 to benefit undergraduates pursuing careers in business aviation management.

The scholarship was created to honor the memory of Al Conklin, a U.S. Air Force veteran and business aviation leader for more than 60 years. Conklin’s experience as a business aircraft salesman in the early decades of his career informed his later work in proving the economic value of aircraft to business. With Bill de Decker, he first published the Aircraft Cost Evaluator in the 1970s and later founded Conklin & de Decker, an aviation information company that provides aircraft operating cost and performance data.

NBAA and Conklin & de Decker annually award $5,000 to a student who is officially enrolled in an aviation management program at a University Aviation Association (UAA) member school. USA: William M. Fanning Maintenance Scholarship 2010 For US Students

The National Business Aviation Association annually awards $2,500 to each of two applicants pursuing careers as maintenance technicians. One award will benefit a student who currently is enrolled in an accredited airframe and powerplant (A&P) program at an approved FAR Part 147 school. The second award will benefit an individual who currently is not enrolled but has been accepted for enrollment in an A&P program.

The scholarship is named in honor of retired NBAA staff member William M. Fanning, who was active in maintenance issues during his nearly 20-year tenure at the Association.

Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. Scholarships will be awarded at the NBAA 63rd Annual Meeting & Convention in October 2010, and checks will be made payable to the school. Scholarship recipients must use the funds by December 31, 2011, or risk forfeit of the award.

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the family and friends of Lawrence Ginocchio annually award $5,000 to each of five students who are officially enrolled at NBAA/University Aviation Association (UAA)-member institutions.

The Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship was created in 2001 by NBAA and the family and friends of the late Lawrence Ginocchio to honor his outstanding personal contribution to the business aviation community. Named for a remarkable man whose strength of character inspired a high standard of caring in the aviation community, this scholarship recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated honesty, integrity and selflessness in their dealings with others. These individuals should possess a passion for aviation, as Larry Ginocchio did, and have utilized their interest or involvement in business aviation to enhance the lives of others.

USA: UAA Janice K. Barden Aviation Scholarship 2010 For US Students

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) annually awards $1,000 to each of five undergraduates studying aviation-related curricula at NBAA and University Aviation Association (UAA) member institutions.

This scholarship is named for Janice Barden, who has been active in the aviation community for decades and has served as chair of the NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention Local Committee more than any other person in NBAA history.

Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. Scholarships will be awarded by spring 2011, and checks will be made payable to the school. Scholarship recipients must use the funds by December 31, 2011, or risk forfeit of the award.
